The Purves-McBay residence is a uniquely intact example of early Gabled Vernacular Cottage architecture situated in the Oceanside neighbourhood of Kitsilano. Having been lived in continuously for over 100 years by the same family, this was one of the first homes built on the 1800 block of West 2nd Avenue.
